We had a very good tournament as a Team scoring 4-2 in Match points . In the two defeats we were paired up losing narrow matches both by the score of 2.5-1.5. Ernie Johnson scored 5-1 on Board 1 including one win vs Master Peter Radomskyj. Johnson also managed a draw vs Ray Kaufman (2388). Scott Strattner also had a strong performance with 4.5/6 losing only to a player with a Masters rating. Craig Fisher and Ken Evans both scored 3-3 but securing much needed points in critical points in several Matches.

Other Vassar players participating in this years event included Jonathan Richman who played Board 1 on his team. Richman is improving rapidly and is already a dangerous opponent. David Antunucci and Micheal Raphael were teamates representing Northeastern University. Dorairaj Ram and his brother also played in this years edition teamming up with a Scholastic team.Ed Scimia who has moved to Ct. was also in attendance.

There were 267 Teams that played in the tournament. The Cambridge Springers from Mass. were the overall winners.
